PEMBINA PIPELINE (PBA)

Pembina’s network includes conventional and oil sands pipelines, gas gathering and processing facilities, fractionation plants, storage assets, and export-related infrastructure. Its systems help energy producers transport volumes from producing basins to refineries, petrochemical facilities, distribution hubs, and export terminals. The company also has exposure to the Bakken region and other North American supply areas, giving it a role in cross-border energy logistics.

A major part of Pembina’s business is handling natural gas liquids such as propane, butane, ethane, and condensate. Through fractionation and marketing operations, it separates mixed NGL streams into higher-value products and supports customers that need reliable access to feedstocks and transportation capacity. Its storage and terminal assets add flexibility to the system, allowing customers to manage seasonal demand and market price differences.

Pembina generally operates under fee-based or contracted arrangements, which can provide more stable cash flows than direct commodity production, although volumes, spreads, capital spending, regulation, and customer activity still matter. The company is also involved in LNG export development through the Cedar LNG project, reflecting its interest in infrastructure that links Canadian natural gas supply with global energy demand.
