Chiliz (CHZ)

The CHZ token sits at the centre of this ecosystem. It is used across Chiliz products and partner experiences, most notably in connection with fan tokens issued for sports organisations. These fan tokens typically let holders take part in polls, access promotions, compete for rewards, or unlock club-related experiences, depending on how each partner chooses to use the technology. They do not represent equity in a team or traditional ownership rights.

Chiliz is closely associated with Socios.com, a fan engagement platform that has worked with football clubs and other sports properties around the world. The broader Chiliz strategy is to make blockchain infrastructure useful for mainstream sports audiences by abstracting away much of the technical complexity and focusing on loyalty, participation, and digital community.

The project has also developed its own blockchain infrastructure for sports and entertainment applications, aiming to support tokens, decentralised applications, and brand-led Web3 services. As a crypto asset, CHZ is therefore tied less to a general-purpose payment narrative and more to the growth of tokenised fan engagement, sports partnerships, and the willingness of major organisations to experiment with blockchain-based community products.
