The project began with an emphasis on game developers, a market where digital assets, player-owned items, and in-game economies are natural fits for blockchain technology but where poor user experience can limit adoption. Glidr has since broadened into a modular infrastructure layer that can support a wider range of decentralised applications. Its toolkit is designed to abstract away much of the underlying blockchain complexity while still giving developers access to programmable ownership and crypto-native functionality.

Key components described by Glidr include account abstraction, fiat and crypto payment integration, programmable asset issuance, zero-knowledge proof support, and programmable smart locks. These features can help developers create applications where users interact with blockchain-backed assets or permissions without needing to understand every technical step behind them. Account abstraction, in particular, is an important theme in Web3 because it can enable smoother sign-ins, sponsored transactions, and more flexible wallet controls.

Glidr’s role in the market is therefore closer to an enabling layer than a single consumer application.
