Solayer (LAYER)

InfiniSVM is presented as a next-generation, hardware-accelerated network for applications that require very high throughput, low latency and strong composability. The architecture draws on technologies such as Infiniband RDMA, which is used in high-performance computing environments to enable extremely fast communication between machines. By applying this type of networking approach to blockchain infrastructure, Solayer aims to reduce bottlenecks in validator coordination and transaction processing.

The project’s performance targets are ambitious, including throughput above one million transactions per second and network bandwidth above 100Gbps. These goals reflect a broader trend in blockchain design: moving beyond incremental scaling improvements and building systems that can support real-time consumer, trading, gaming and financial applications without sacrificing the shared-state composability that makes smart-contract platforms useful.

Solayer’s focus on the Solana Virtual Machine is significant because the SVM has become an important execution environment beyond the Solana mainnet itself. If demand for SVM-based applications continues to grow, infrastructure that improves scalability, sequencing, validation or shared security could become more important. Solayer therefore sits at the intersection of Solana infrastructure, restaking, and high-performance blockchain execution, with LAYER representing the project’s crypto asset within that ecosystem.
