Orca (ORCA)

The protocol is one of Solana’s early general-purpose AMMs and has become an important venue for token liquidity on the network. Its design emphasises simplicity, price transparency, and efficient execution, while still giving more advanced users tools to manage liquidity strategies. Orca’s concentrated liquidity product, known as Whirlpools, lets liquidity providers allocate capital within selected price ranges, improving capital efficiency compared with traditional constant-product pools.

For developers and other Solana projects, Orca functions as a composable DeFi building block. Applications can route swaps through Orca, access pool data, or build trading and yield features on top of its liquidity infrastructure. This role makes the protocol part of the broader “money lego” stack that supports wallets, aggregators, trading applications, and token launches across Solana.

ORCA is the protocol’s native token and is associated with governance and ecosystem participation. As with other DeFi assets, its relevance is tied to the usage of the exchange, the depth of liquidity on Solana, and the protocol’s ability to attract traders, liquidity providers, and integrations in a competitive decentralised exchange market.
