Electra Battery Materials (ELBM)

Electra’s flagship development is a cobalt refinery intended to produce battery-grade cobalt sulfate, a material used in certain lithium-ion battery chemistries. The company also works on battery recycling, including processing black mass, the intermediate material recovered from end-of-life batteries and manufacturing scrap. This gives Electra exposure to both primary raw material refining and the circular economy emerging around battery metals.

The company reports its activities through refinery, exploration and evaluation, and corporate and other segments. Beyond refining, Electra has interests in mineral assets that may support its long-term position in critical minerals, including cobalt-related exploration exposure. Its strategy is not simply to mine a commodity, but to help build the midstream processing capacity required between mineral extraction and battery cell manufacturing.
