Alphabet Inc. Class C Capital Stock represents the non-voting publicly traded share class of Alphabet, the parent company of Google. Alphabet is one of the world’s largest technology groups, with operations spanning digital advertising, search, video, mobile software, cloud computing, consumer hardware, and early-stage technology ventures.
The company’s core business sits within Google Services, which includes Google Search, YouTube, Google Maps, Gmail, Android, Chrome, and the Google Play ecosystem. Advertising remains the principal revenue driver, supported by the scale of Google Search and YouTube’s global audience. Google Services also includes subscription and platform revenue from products such as YouTube Premium, YouTube TV, Google One, and app sales or in-app purchases through the Play Store. Hardware products, including Pixel phones, Fitbit devices, Nest smart-home equipment, and related consumer electronics, add another route to users.
Google Cloud is Alphabet’s enterprise technology arm. It provides cloud infrastructure, data analytics, cybersecurity, collaboration tools, and artificial intelligence services to companies and public-sector customers. The unit competes with other major cloud platforms and is strategically important as businesses increase spending on AI and digital transformation.
Alphabet also owns a portfolio of longer-term projects known as Other Bets. These include Waymo in autonomous driving and Verily in life sciences, among other ventures. GOOG shares give investors economic exposure to Alphabet’s businesses without voting rights, distinguishing them from the company’s Class A shares.
