Coca-Cola (KO)
NYSEMarket Closed
The Coca-Cola Company is the world’s largest nonalcoholic beverage company and one of the most widely recognized consumer brands. Founded in 1886 and headquartered in Atlanta, the company owns a portfolio that extends well beyond its namesake cola. Its brands cover sparkling soft drinks, water, sports drinks, juices, dairy and plant-based beverages, coffee, tea and energy drinks, giving it exposure to many parts of the global beverage market.
Coca-Cola’s system is built around a franchise model. The company typically develops brands, produces concentrates and syrups, manages marketing and consumer strategy, and works with bottling partners that manufacture, package, distribute and sell finished beverages in local markets. This structure allows Coca-Cola to operate at global scale while relying on regional bottlers with local retail, restaurant and distribution relationships.
Its portfolio includes Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, Sprite, Fanta, Minute Maid, Powerade, Dasani and other international and regional brands. The company sells through supermarkets, convenience stores, vending channels, restaurants, entertainment venues and other away-from-home locations. That broad distribution network is a central competitive advantage, helping Coca-Cola maintain visibility across both developed and emerging markets.
The business is geographically diverse, with a large share of sales generated outside the United States. Growth is influenced by consumer preferences, pricing, packaging mix, marketing execution and local economic conditions. Coca-Cola continues to adapt its portfolio as consumers shift between indulgent soft drinks, low- and no-sugar options, hydration products and other ready-to-drink beverages.
