Oracle Corporation (ORCL)
NYSE Market Closed
Oracle Corporation is a global enterprise software and cloud infrastructure company best known for its database technology. Founded in 1977, Oracle helped commercialise relational database management systems based on SQL, and its database products remain widely used by large organisations for mission-critical applications, transaction processing, analytics, and data management.
The company serves businesses, governments, and institutions through a broad portfolio that spans software, hardware, and cloud services. Its enterprise applications cover areas such as enterprise resource planning, human capital management, supply chain management, customer experience, and industry-specific workflows. Oracle also supports customers that run technology in on-premises data centres, in public cloud environments, or through hybrid deployments, which is important for large enterprises with complex compliance and legacy system requirements.
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, or OCI, is a growing part of the business. It provides computing, storage, networking, database, and artificial intelligence infrastructure services. OCI is designed to support demanding enterprise workloads, including high-performance databases and AI training or inference use cases. Oracle’s cloud strategy also benefits from its ability to integrate applications, databases, and infrastructure under a single vendor ecosystem.
A distinctive feature of Oracle is the depth of its installed base. Many of the world’s largest companies rely on Oracle systems for core operations, creating long-term customer relationships and recurring revenue opportunities. The company competes with major technology providers across databases, business applications, and cloud computing, but its strength lies in serving complex enterprise environments where reliability, data security, and performance are central priorities.
