The protocol allows market creators to define custom options-style or prediction markets, while traders can take positions and exit through secondary trading where liquidity is available. Public markets are designed to use Olympus AI’s oracle agent for resolution, bringing an automated data and decision layer into the settlement process. Private markets give creators more control by allowing them to act as resolvers, which can support more bespoke use cases but also makes trust assumptions an important consideration for participants.

Rain also incorporates account abstraction to reduce friction for users interacting with on-chain markets. This can help simplify wallet and transaction flows, an important feature for products that aim to attract users beyond experienced DeFi traders.

The RAIN token sits at the centre of the protocol’s incentive and governance model. Token holders participate in DAO-based governance, influencing the rules and direction of the platform. Rain also uses a deflationary mechanism in which 2.5% of trading volume is directed toward buying and burning RAIN, linking token supply dynamics to platform activity. Its main distinction is the combination of open market creation, oracle-based resolution, and Arbitrum’s scalable infrastructure for decentralized derivatives and outcome trading.
