Spacecoin (SPACE)

The project’s core idea is to treat connectivity as open infrastructure. Spacecoin is designed as a network in which additional satellites can be contributed over time, rather than a closed system controlled by a single traditional telecom operator. This gives the project a decentralised framing within the broader crypto market, where blockchain systems are often used to coordinate open participation, incentives, and network ownership.

Spacecoin targets regions where reliable internet access is unavailable, expensive, or restricted. Its stated focus includes countries such as Nigeria, Indonesia, and India, with the ambition of offering a basic lifeline connection at very low monthly cost. The project also frames its mission around the billions of people who remain offline or face limited access to the internet, positioning connectivity as both a commercial and social infrastructure challenge.

The roadmap described an initial satellite launch in December 2024, followed by plans for additional satellites in October 2025. SPACE represents exposure to a project that sits at the intersection of crypto networks, satellite communications, and global internet access. Its distinguishing feature is the attempt to extend decentralised infrastructure beyond blockchains themselves and into the physical layer of connectivity.
