Stargate Finance (STG)

The protocol is closely associated with LayerZero’s omnichain messaging infrastructure, which allows applications on different blockchains to communicate. Stargate uses this messaging layer to support asset transfers where users deposit a token on one chain and receive the corresponding native asset on another. Its design aims to provide instant guaranteed finality, meaning a transfer that is confirmed on the source chain should be delivered on the destination chain without the user facing a later reversal caused by insufficient liquidity.

STG is the Stargate Finance token. It is used within the protocol’s incentive and governance framework, including participation in decisions affecting parameters, integrations, and liquidity programs. Liquidity providers can supply assets to Stargate pools and may earn fees or incentives depending on market conditions and active programs.

Stargate’s importance comes from its role in decentralized finance’s multichain environment. As activity spreads across Ethereum, layer-2 networks, and alternative layer-1 blockchains, users and applications need reliable ways to move capital without centralised exchanges.
