Immunic, Inc. is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing oral therapies for chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. Its strategy centres on small-molecule drug candidates that are designed to modulate immune activity or restore tissue function without the complexity associated with injectable biologic medicines. The company’s target indications include conditions such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis and psoriasis, all of which involve long-term immune dysregulation and significant unmet medical need.
The company’s lead program, vidofludimus calcium, also known as IMU-838, is a selective immune modulator that inhibits dihydroorotate dehydrogenase, or DHODH. Immunic’s pipeline also includes IMU-856, a program aimed at restoring intestinal barrier function, and IMU-935, an inverse agonist of RORγt, a target associated with inflammatory signalling pathways.
Immunic operates as a life sciences business and does not have the diversified commercial revenue profile of a mature pharmaceutical company. Its prospects depend heavily on clinical trial outcomes, regulatory review, financing needs and eventual commercial or partnership opportunities.
