Magna is distinctive because it participates across much of the vehicle, rather than focusing on a narrow category of parts. This breadth gives the company exposure to traditional internal combustion platforms, hybrid vehicles, and electric vehicles. It also supports automakers with engineering and manufacturing capabilities as the industry shifts toward electrification, advanced driver assistance, lighter materials, and more complex vehicle electronics.

The company has a broad international manufacturing footprint. In 2025, nearly half of its USD 42 billion in revenue came from North America, while Europe accounted for roughly 38% and Asia represented most of the balance. Magna’s customer base includes many of the world’s largest automakers, but revenue is concentrated among a small group of major clients. Its six largest customers generated about three quarters of sales in 2025, with General Motors, Mercedes-Benz, and Ford among the top three. General Motors was the single largest customer, contributing 15.6% of revenue.

Founded in 1957, Magna has grown into one of the most significant suppliers in the automotive supply chain, with about 144,000 employees. The company is also known for an entrepreneurial operating culture and a corporate constitution that sets out how profits are shared among stakeholders.
