The business is organized around two main segments. Consumer & Specialties is the larger revenue contributor and includes mineral-to-market products and specialty ingredients used in areas such as personal care, household products, paper, packaging, food-related applications, and other consumer-facing categories. This segment reflects the company’s ability to turn naturally occurring minerals into higher-value products with specific performance characteristics.

Engineered Solutions serves industrial customers with mineral blends, environmental products, and systems designed to improve manufacturing efficiency, product quality, or project performance. Its offerings can be used in foundry operations, construction-related applications, water treatment, and other process-intensive industries where mineral chemistry and application expertise are important.

Minerals Technologies generates most of its revenue in the United States, but it also operates across Canada and Latin America, Europe and Africa, and Asia. Its geographic reach gives it exposure to a broad range of end markets while still tying performance to industrial production, consumer demand, construction activity, and customers’ capital spending. For investors, MTX represents a materials business focused less on bulk commodity mining and more on specialty mineral applications, technical service, and value-added formulations.
