MYR Group, Inc. is a specialty electrical construction company serving utility, commercial, and industrial customers across the United States and Canada. The company operates through a network of subsidiaries that provide engineering, procurement, construction, upgrade, maintenance, and repair services for complex electrical infrastructure. Its work supports power delivery systems, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, transportation projects, renewable energy connections, and other critical infrastructure.
The business is organised into two main segments: Transmission and Distribution, and Commercial and Industrial. The Transmission and Distribution segment is the larger contributor and focuses on electric utility infrastructure, including transmission lines, distribution networks, substations, and related power delivery assets. Services can include new construction, system hardening, storm restoration, line upgrades, and ongoing maintenance for utility customers.
The Commercial and Industrial segment provides electrical contracting services for projects such as data centers, healthcare facilities, manufacturing plants, water treatment facilities, airports, and clean energy-related developments. This gives MYR Group exposure to broader construction spending and demand for electrification across the economy.
MYR Group’s role is closely tied to long-term investment in grid reliability, renewable energy integration, and modernization of aging electrical systems. Utilities and private customers often require specialist contractors with the scale, safety record, equipment, and technical expertise to work on high-voltage and mission-critical projects. The company’s revenue can fluctuate with project timing, bidding conditions, weather events, labor availability, and capital spending by utility and industrial clients.
