Neurogene (NGNE)

A key feature of Neurogene’s platform is EXACT, which stands for Expression Attenuation via Construct Tuning. This technology is intended to regulate transgene expression and reduce the risk of excessive protein production, a known concern in some gene therapy approaches. Neurogene’s lead candidate, NGN-401, is being developed for Rett syndrome, a rare neurodevelopmental disorder most commonly linked to mutations in the MECP2 gene. The company is also developing NGN-101 for CLN5 Batten disease, a form of neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis. NGN-101 is a conventional AAV-based gene therapy candidate designed to deliver the CLN5 gene using an AAV9 capsid.
