Winnebago Industries, Inc. is a US manufacturer of outdoor recreation products, best known for motorhomes and towable recreational vehicles sold under a portfolio of established brands. The company traces its roots to 1958 and is headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Its product range spans Class A, Class B and Class C motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, specialty vehicles, marine products and related parts and services.
Winnebago has broadened significantly beyond its original motorhome base. The 2011 acquisition of SunnyBrook gave it a larger position in towable RVs, while the 2016 purchase of Grand Design made towables a central part of the business. By fiscal 2025, towables accounted for the large majority of its RV unit volume, highlighting a major shift in its revenue mix and customer reach. The company reported total RV unit volume of 36,911 in fiscal 2025 and revenue of $2.8 billion.
The group has also expanded into adjacent outdoor lifestyle markets. It entered boating through the acquisition of Chris-Craft in 2018 and added premium pontoon boat maker Barletta in 2021. Newmar, acquired in 2019, strengthened its position in higher-end motorhomes.
Winnebago’s market is cyclical and tied to consumer confidence, interest rates, fuel costs and discretionary spending. Its appeal rests on brand recognition, dealer relationships and exposure to long-term interest in camping, road travel and outdoor recreation. The company is also exploring electric and autonomous technologies, positioning itself for changes in mobility and future recreational vehicle design.
