Story (IP)

The project targets a broad definition of intellectual property. A registered asset can represent creative work such as music, images, characters, writing, videos, NFTs, software, datasets, AI models, or other rights-bearing material. By bringing these assets onchain, Story aims to make IP easier to track, license, combine, and monetize across digital markets and applications.

This focus is particularly relevant as generative AI increases demand for transparent provenance and usage rights. Story is designed to help creators, brands, developers, and IP owners define how their work may be used, whether derivative works are allowed, and how revenue should be shared when an asset is remixed or commercialized.

The IP token is associated with the network’s crypto economy and is intended to support activity within the Story ecosystem. As with other layer 1 networks, its role is tied to the operation and use of the blockchain, while applications built on top can create marketplaces, licensing tools, creator platforms, and AI-related IP services.

Story’s distinctive position is its attempt to make intellectual property a native blockchain primitive. Instead of treating IP as an offchain legal concept with limited digital interoperability, it provides infrastructure for registering rights and automating IP interactions in a transparent, composable environment.
