World Mobile Token (WMTX)

The network is designed around a community-operated model. Participants can run infrastructure nodes, often referred to as AirNodes, that help deliver connectivity to users, while other participants can stake tokens to support the network and earn rewards. This approach aims to reduce the capital intensity of telecom deployment by allowing local entrepreneurs, communities, and infrastructure providers to contribute coverage rather than relying only on large centralized carriers.

WMTX is used to support network incentives and utility across the World Mobile ecosystem. It helps align the interests of node operators, stakers, users, and the wider protocol by rewarding useful contributions to the network. The project’s broader proposition is that decentralized ownership and blockchain-based settlement can make wireless services more inclusive, transparent, and resilient.
