Its most established commercial product is clonoSEQ, a diagnostic test used to detect and monitor minimal residual disease, or MRD, in certain blood cancers. The test is authorised by the US Food and Drug Administration for use in patients with multiple myeloma, B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, and chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. It is also offered as a CLIA-validated laboratory developed test for other lymphoid cancers. MRD testing is important because it can detect very small amounts of cancer that remain after treatment, helping physicians assess response and monitor potential relapse.

Adaptive reports its business through two operating segments: Minimal Residual Disease and Immune Medicine.
