Nike, Inc. is the world’s leading athletic footwear and apparel company, with a global brand built around sport, performance innovation, and cultural relevance. Footwear is its largest product category and accounts for the majority of revenue, led by performance lines in running, basketball, football, training, and lifestyle sneakers. The company also sells apparel, equipment, and accessories for athletes and everyday consumers.
Nike operates a portfolio of brands and labels that reach different parts of the market. The Nike brand anchors the group, while Jordan occupies a premium position in basketball, sneakers, and sportswear. Converse gives the company exposure to casual footwear and youth culture, and NikeSkims extends its presence in women’s athleisure and performance-inspired clothing. The company’s marketing relies heavily on elite athletes, teams, leagues, designers, and major sporting events, helping its products remain visible across both sport and fashion.
Nike sells through a mix of wholesale partners, company-owned stores, franchised locations, and digital platforms. Its direct-to-consumer business includes Nike stores, mobile apps, membership programs, and e-commerce sites in many international markets. The group has a particularly important presence in North America, Europe, Greater China, and other Asia-Pacific and Latin American markets.
Nike outsources nearly all manufacturing to independent suppliers across multiple countries, allowing it to focus on design, brand management, product development, merchandising, and distribution. Founded in 1964 and headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon, Nike remains one of the most influential consumer brands in global sport.
