vTv Therapeutics Inc. is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing oral, small-molecule therapies for diabetes and other chronic conditions. The company’s strategy centers on drug candidates that can address large, long-term disease markets where treatment burden remains high and where more convenient oral options may improve outcomes for patients.
Its lead program is cadisegliatin, also known as TTP399, a liver-selective glucokinase activator being studied as an adjunct to insulin therapy for people with type 1 diabetes. Unlike insulin replacement, the candidate is designed to act on glucose regulation in the liver, with the aim of improving glycemic control while fitting into existing diabetes treatment regimens. Type 1 diabetes remains a lifelong disease requiring intensive management, making even incremental improvements in safety, convenience, or control important to patients and clinicians.
Beyond cadisegliatin, vTv maintains a portfolio of earlier-stage and partnered programs that reflect its focus on metabolism, inflammation, and chronic disease biology. These include candidates such as TTP273, HPP737, TTP-RA, mavodelpar, HPP971, and HPP3033, some of which are advanced through collaborations, licensing arrangements, or academic research relationships.
As a late-stage biotech, vTv’s investment profile is closely tied to clinical trial progress, regulatory developments, financing needs, and potential partnership activity. The company does not resemble a diversified pharmaceutical manufacturer; instead, its value depends heavily on whether its pipeline can demonstrate meaningful clinical benefit and move toward approval or commercialization.
