Mantle (MNT)
Mantle is a blockchain ecosystem centred on scaling Ethereum and expanding the range of financial applications available on-chain. Its core product, Mantle Network, is an Ethereum layer-2 network built to offer lower transaction costs and faster settlement while remaining connected to Ethereum’s security and liquidity. The project uses a modular approach, separating key blockchain functions so that execution, settlement, and data availability can be optimized more flexibly than on a traditional monolithic chain.
The MNT token is the main asset of the Mantle ecosystem. It is used for governance and also functions as the native gas token on Mantle Network, giving it a direct role in user activity across decentralized applications deployed on the chain. Through governance, MNT holders can influence decisions affecting protocol upgrades, ecosystem funding, and strategic development.
Mantle has broadened beyond layer-2 infrastructure into a wider on-chain finance stack. Its products include mETH Protocol, a liquid staking system that gives users exposure to Ethereum staking rewards while preserving DeFi composability, and FBTC-related initiatives that aim to bring Bitcoin liquidity into decentralized finance. Mantle Index Four is positioned as another ecosystem product designed to package exposure to selected on-chain themes.
The project is distinctive for combining scaling infrastructure, staking products, treasury-backed ecosystem development, and institutional-style financial services within one brand. Its long-term relevance depends on developer adoption, user demand for Ethereum scaling, and the ability of its financial products to attract liquidity in a crowded Web3 market.
