Sei (SEI)

A central part of Sei’s positioning is its focus on scaling the Ethereum Virtual Machine. By supporting EVM compatibility, Sei allows developers familiar with Ethereum tooling and Solidity-based smart contracts to deploy applications with less friction. At the same time, the network uses parallelized execution to process independent transactions more efficiently, rather than forcing all activity through a strictly sequential model. This approach is intended to improve throughput while preserving the developer experience that has made the EVM the dominant smart contract environment.

Sei targets use cases where execution speed is particularly important, including decentralized exchanges, trading applications, gaming, consumer crypto products, and other on-chain services that require rapid state updates. Low fees and quick finality are important parts of that value proposition, especially for applications that cannot operate smoothly if every interaction is expensive or delayed.

The project has also outlined a major technical roadmap through its planned Giga upgrade, which is intended to improve EVM performance by optimizing execution, consensus, and storage. Sei’s long-term competitiveness depends on delivering these improvements reliably while attracting developers, liquidity, and real user activity in a crowded Layer 1 market.
