Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc.Class A (BIO)
NYSE Market Open
Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. Class A represents the publicly traded Class A shares of Bio-Rad, a California-based supplier of tools, instruments and consumables used across healthcare testing and scientific research. The company serves two closely related markets: clinical diagnostics, where its systems help laboratories run and monitor medical tests, and life sciences, where researchers and biopharmaceutical manufacturers use its reagents, instruments and software to study biology and develop therapies.
In diagnostics, Bio-Rad is known for quality control products, immunohematology systems, diabetes testing, autoimmune testing and other specialized laboratory solutions. These products are used by hospitals, reference laboratories and blood banks that require reliable, standardized results. The recurring nature of controls, reagents and service support gives the business exposure to routine healthcare testing rather than one-off capital equipment sales alone.
Bio-Rad’s life sciences segment supplies technologies for protein analysis, cell biology, gene expression, chromatography, digital PCR and related research workflows. Its droplet digital PCR platform is a notable part of the portfolio, giving scientists a highly sensitive method for measuring nucleic acids in areas such as oncology research, infectious disease studies and bioprocess monitoring.
The company operates globally, with meaningful sales in the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Bio-Rad also holds a large strategic investment in Sartorius, a major German supplier to the bioprocessing industry, which adds an additional link to biologics manufacturing trends. For investors, Bio-Rad is a diversified life science and diagnostics company with exposure to laboratory automation, biomedical research and long-term demand for higher-quality testing.
