Imunon, Inc. is a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on DNA-based medicines that use the body’s own cellular machinery to produce therapeutic proteins or immune-stimulating antigens. Rather than relying on viral vectors, the company develops non-viral DNA delivery systems intended to support repeat dosing, targeted administration and scalable manufacturing across multiple disease areas.
The company’s main therapeutic platform is TheraPlas, which is designed to deliver DNA instructions for proteins and cytokines directly to diseased tissue. Its lead clinical candidate, IMNN-001, is a DNA-based immunotherapy for the localized treatment of ovarian cancer. The programme is intended to stimulate an anti-tumour immune response in the tumour environment, with development focused on patients with advanced ovarian cancer in combination with established treatment approaches.
Imunon is also developing PlaCCine, a DNA vaccine platform that encodes viral antigens to trigger protective immune responses. This modality reflects the company’s broader effort to apply non-viral DNA technology beyond oncology, including infectious disease prevention. The platform approach is built around the idea that DNA constructs can be adapted to different targets while using related delivery and formulation capabilities.
As a biotechnology stock, Imunon’s outlook is closely linked to clinical trial execution, safety and efficacy results, regulatory interactions and access to capital for continued development. Its distinguishing feature is the attempt to turn non-viral DNA delivery into a flexible therapeutic and vaccine engine, with IMNN-001 serving as the most advanced test of that strategy in a high-need cancer setting.
