Peapack-Gladstone Financial Corp is a New Jersey-based bank holding company that operates through Peapack-Gladstone Bank and related subsidiaries. The company provides private banking, commercial banking, retail banking, and wealth management services to individuals, families, businesses, non-profit organisations, and institutions. Its model combines traditional community banking with a higher-touch advisory approach aimed at affluent clients and commercial relationships in its core markets.
The company reports two main business segments: Banking and Wealth Management. Banking is the larger revenue contributor and includes deposit gathering, commercial and industrial lending, commercial real estate finance, multifamily lending, residential mortgages, consumer loans, treasury management, escrow services, card services, ATM access, and digital and telephone banking. This segment is sensitive to loan demand, credit quality, funding costs, and changes in interest rates, all of which can influence net interest income and margins.
The Wealth Management segment broadens the company’s earnings base beyond lending and deposits. It offers investment management, trust and estate services, financial planning, custody, and advisory solutions for individuals and institutions. Fee-based wealth management revenue can provide a complementary source of income, particularly when banking spreads are under pressure.
Peapack-Gladstone’s appeal lies in its regional banking franchise, relationship-driven service model, and mix of balance-sheet banking and advisory businesses. Like other banks, it faces risks from economic cycles, regulatory requirements, commercial real estate exposure, deposit competition, and credit losses. Its performance is closely tied to conditions in the communities and business markets it serves.
