Bitget Wrapped BTC (BGBTC)

The token’s main purpose is to expand the utility of Bitcoin for Bitget users. Holders can subscribe to and redeem BGBTC through Bitget’s dedicated product channel, and the asset can also be used in Bitget Earn. This structure allows users to retain a BTC-denominated position while participating in additional reward opportunities, rather than leaving Bitcoin idle in a spot wallet.

Bitget presents BGBTC as part of a wider push into Bitcoin DeFi. Through partnerships with projects in the Bitcoin ecosystem, users who stake BGBTC may become eligible for layered incentives such as BGPoints. These points are intended to connect users with future ecosystem rewards, including potential token distributions after partner projects complete their token generation events.

BGBTC is not the same as holding native BTC directly on the Bitcoin blockchain. Its reliability depends on the integrity of Bitget’s issuance, redemption and custody arrangements, as well as the maintenance of its one-to-one peg. For users comfortable with those trade-offs, it offers a way to make Bitcoin exposure more productive within Bitget-linked DeFi and earning products.
