Monad (MON)

The network’s core design centres on parallel execution. Rather than handling transactions strictly one after another, Monad is built to process multiple transactions at the same time where possible. It also separates consensus from execution, allowing validators to agree on transaction ordering before execution is completed. This architecture is intended to raise capacity without discarding the decentralised validator model that underpins public blockchains.

Monad also uses a custom database layer, MonadDB, which is designed for the read-and-write demands of high-volume blockchain activity. Combined with full EVM compatibility, this allows Ethereum-based applications, developer tools, and wallets such as MetaMask to work with minimal friction. Developers can therefore target Monad without having to learn a completely new programming stack or abandon existing Solidity-based code.

The project is backed by significant venture funding, including rounds led by Dragonfly Capital and Paradigm, with participation from other well-known crypto investors. Its positioning places it among a group of next-generation Layer 1 networks competing to deliver faster settlement and lower transaction costs while preserving Ethereum-style composability. For users and developers, Monad’s main appeal is the prospect of an EVM-compatible chain capable of supporting more demanding decentralised finance, gaming, trading, and consumer applications.
