Albany International Corp Class A (AIN)
NYSE Market Open
Albany International Corp. is an engineered materials and advanced manufacturing company serving industrial, paper, aerospace, and defense customers. Although its roots are in textiles, the company’s modern business is centered on highly specialized fabrics, process belts, and composite structures used in demanding production environments. Its Class A shares give investors exposure to a manufacturer with both mature industrial end markets and higher-technology aerospace applications.
The company’s largest segment is Machine Clothing, which designs and manufactures custom fabrics and belts used in the production of paper, paperboard, tissue, towel, and pulp. These products are critical consumables in paper machines, helping control water removal, sheet formation, drying efficiency, and product quality. Albany also applies its materials expertise to other industrial processes where durability, precision, and heat or wear resistance are important.
Albany Engineered Composites is the company’s aerospace and defense platform. This segment produces composite components and assemblies that can reduce weight and improve performance in aircraft and other advanced systems. Its work places Albany in supply chains where engineering qualification, manufacturing reliability, and long product cycles are central competitive factors.
Albany International operates across multiple regions, including the United States, Europe, Latin America, and Asia, reflecting the global nature of its customer base. Its results are influenced by paper industry production levels, industrial capital spending, aerospace program demand, raw material and labor costs, and execution on long-term contracts. The company is distinctive because it combines recurring, application-specific industrial consumables with a composites business tied to advanced aerospace manufacturing.
