D.R. Horton Inc. is a US homebuilding company and one of the most prominent names in the American residential construction market. Headquartered in Arlington, Texas, the company develops and sells homes across a broad national footprint, with operations spanning dozens of states and many of the country’s major housing markets. Its business is centred on single-family homes, but it serves a range of customer groups, including first-time buyers, move-up households, higher-end buyers, and active adults.
A defining feature of D.R. Horton’s model is its scale and diversified product offering. The company builds under multiple brands and price points, allowing it to adjust to local market conditions and changing affordability trends. Entry-level and more affordable homes are especially important to its volume-driven approach, while higher-priced communities help broaden its customer base.
