Mueller Industries (MLI)
NYSE Market Closed
Mueller Industries, Inc. is a diversified manufacturer of metal and plastic products used across construction, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, industrial, and OEM markets. The company is best known for its copper tube, fittings, valves, brass rod, forgings, and related components, giving it exposure to repair and remodel activity, new building construction, infrastructure spending, and industrial production.
The business is organised around three main areas. Its piping systems operations generate the largest share of revenue and supply products such as copper tube, fittings, line sets, pipe nipples, valves, and plastic plumbing components. These products are sold through wholesalers, retailers, distributors, and industrial customers, and are used in residential, commercial, and industrial applications. The industrial metals division produces brass rod, copper bar, forgings, impacts, and other value-added metal products for customers that require engineered materials and semi-finished components. Mueller’s climate segment focuses on products used in temperature-control systems, including refrigeration valves, heat exchangers, twisted tube products, and components for air-conditioning and cooling equipment.
Headquartered in the United States, Mueller Industries operates a broad manufacturing and distribution footprint across North America and selected international markets, including the UK, Canada, Mexico, Asia, and the Middle East. Its scale in copper and brass processing, combined with a portfolio that spans commodity-like products and more specialised components, makes the company a key supplier to building-products and industrial supply chains. Investors typically view Mueller through the lens of construction demand, copper and other raw material costs, manufacturing efficiency, and the company’s ability to manage cyclical end markets while maintaining strong customer relationships.
