The company’s Materials segment covers mining, milling, separation, and related processing activities at Mountain Pass. These rare earth materials are essential inputs for high-strength permanent magnets used in electric vehicles, wind turbines, robotics, consumer electronics, industrial automation, and defence applications. MP Materials’ business is therefore closely tied to both commodity pricing and long-term demand for electrification and advanced manufacturing.

MP Materials is also working to extend its role further downstream through its Magnetics segment. The company is developing metal, alloy, and magnet manufacturing capabilities, including a facility in Fort Worth, Texas, designed to support domestic production of rare earth magnets. This vertical integration strategy aims to reduce reliance on overseas refining and magnet supply, while capturing more value from the rare earth production chain.

For investors, MP Materials stands out as a rare pure-play exposure to Western rare earth production and the reshoring of critical minerals supply.
