Nasdaq Market Closed
Paccar Inc is a global truck manufacturer best known for its premium commercial vehicle brands Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF. The company designs, manufactures, and supports medium- and heavy-duty trucks used in freight transport, construction, vocational services, and other industrial applications. Kenworth and Peterbilt are especially prominent in North America and Australia, while DAF is a major name in Europe and also serves markets in South America and other regions.
The company’s core truck operations are supported by a large independent dealer network that provides sales, service, and customer support. Paccar’s position in heavy-duty trucking is reinforced by its reputation for durable vehicles, strong resale values, fuel efficiency, and driver-focused design. It holds a significant share of the North American Class 8 truck market and is also an important competitor in the European heavy-duty segment.
Beyond vehicle manufacturing, Paccar has built a sizeable parts business that supplies replacement components, engines, axles, transmissions, and related products for its own brands and other commercial vehicle applications. This parts operation gives the company an important recurring revenue stream tied to the installed base of trucks on the road.
Paccar also operates a financial services arm that provides retail financing to truck buyers and wholesale financing to dealers. This integrated model helps customers acquire vehicles and supports dealer inventory. As the trucking industry evolves, Paccar continues to invest in cleaner diesel technology, electric trucks, connected vehicle systems, and advanced powertrains while maintaining its focus on premium equipment and disciplined manufacturing.
