Ingevity reports its activities through three main segments: Performance Chemicals, Advanced Polymer Technologies, and Performance Materials. Performance Chemicals is a major revenue contributor and supplies specialty products used in asphalt paving, oilfield applications, agrochemicals, adhesives, lubricants, publication inks, and other industrial processes. These products are designed to improve durability, processing efficiency, dispersion, adhesion, or other functional characteristics.

The Advanced Polymer Technologies segment focuses on caprolactone and caprolactone-based specialty polymers. These materials are used in applications where flexibility, toughness, biodegradability potential, or specialized performance attributes are important, including coatings, resins, elastomers, and engineered materials. Performance Materials is best known for activated carbon technologies, including products used in automotive emissions control systems that help capture gasoline vapor and support compliance with air-quality standards.

Ingevity generates most of its revenue in North America, though its customer base and end markets are global in nature.
