Eclipse (ES)

As an Ethereum L2, Eclipse is positioned within the broader rollup market, where projects compete to reduce transaction costs and increase capacity without abandoning Ethereum’s economic network effects. Instead of using the Ethereum Virtual Machine as its execution environment, Eclipse adopts the SVM, giving developers access to Solana-style parallel execution and tooling while still connecting to Ethereum-native assets and users. This makes the project distinct from conventional EVM rollups and from standalone high-performance layer-1 chains.

Eclipse’s roadmap extends beyond simply deploying an SVM rollup. The project is working toward the Giga Scale Virtual Machine, or GSVM, a new SVM client designed around software and hardware co-optimization. The goal is to push blockchain execution closer to data-center-scale performance while retaining the composability and transparency expected from public crypto networks.

According to the project, Eclipse has already attracted more than $200 million in total value locked, reached peak production throughput near 9,000 transactions per second, and served around 1 million active wallets. Those metrics place it among the more closely watched attempts to bring Solana-level performance into the Ethereum layer-2 ecosystem.
