OKB (OKB)
OKB is the utility token associated with the OKX cryptocurrency exchange and its wider Web3 ecosystem. It was introduced by the OK Blockchain Foundation as a platform token intended to connect users with exchange services, promotional programmes, and blockchain-based products linked to OKX. The token was initially issued as an ERC-20 asset, with its role expanding as OKX developed additional infrastructure beyond spot and derivatives trading.
Within the OKX environment, OKB is best known for exchange-related utility. Holders may receive benefits such as trading-fee discounts, access to selected token sales or campaign features, and eligibility for certain ecosystem services, depending on the rules in force at the time. OKX has also used buyback-and-burn mechanisms for OKB, making token supply management an important part of the asset’s market narrative.
OKB’s relevance has broadened as OKX invests in decentralised finance, wallets, and blockchain infrastructure. The token is used in parts of the OKX ecosystem and has gained additional prominence with OKX’s development of Web3 products, including networks and applications designed to connect centralised exchange users with on-chain activity.
Unlike a governance token for a single decentralised protocol, OKB is closely tied to the commercial footprint and user base of a major crypto exchange. Its value proposition depends heavily on OKX’s ability to retain liquidity, attract global users, maintain regulatory access, and build token utility across trading, payments, and blockchain services.
