Alphabet Inc. Class A Common Stock is a voting share class of Alphabet, the holding company created around Google and its related businesses. Each Class A share carries voting rights, giving it a different governance profile from Alphabet’s non-voting Class C stock, while providing exposure to the same underlying company.
Alphabet’s largest operating engine is Google Services. This segment includes Google Search, YouTube, Android, Chrome, Google Maps, Gmail, Google Play, and a broad range of consumer-facing digital products. Most of the company’s revenue comes from advertising sold across Search, YouTube, and partner networks. The strength of this model is built on Google’s reach, data infrastructure, auction-based ad marketplace, and ability to connect users with commercial intent to advertisers.
Beyond advertising, Google Services generates revenue from subscriptions, apps, and devices. Products such as YouTube TV, YouTube Music, YouTube Premium, Google One, Pixel smartphones, Fitbit wearables, Nest smart-home products, and Play Store transactions broaden Alphabet’s relationship with consumers and developers.
Google Cloud is the company’s major enterprise segment, offering infrastructure, platform services, data tools, Workspace productivity software, and artificial intelligence capabilities. It is a key part of Alphabet’s push to serve businesses adopting cloud computing and generative AI.
Alphabet also invests in longer-horizon opportunities through Other Bets, including autonomous-driving company Waymo and healthcare-focused Verily. These businesses are smaller than Google but reflect Alphabet’s strategy of funding technologies that could become significant future markets.
