Ramaco Resources (METCB)

The company’s main revenue base comes from metallurgical coal, a raw material used to manufacture coke for traditional blast-furnace steelmaking. This makes Ramaco’s performance sensitive to steel demand, global coking coal prices, export conditions, mining costs, and transportation access. Its Appalachian footprint places it near established rail, processing, and coal-handling infrastructure, an important factor in serving both domestic and overseas markets.

Ramaco also has a second strategic focus in rare earths and critical minerals, centered on mineral deposits it controls in the Sheridan, Wyoming area. The company is exploring whether these assets can support rare earth element recovery and other coal-to-carbon product opportunities. Class B shares are associated with Ramaco’s broader capital structure and give investors exposure to the same corporate group, including its metallurgical coal operations and developing critical-minerals initiatives. As with other mining equities, METCB carries exposure to commodity cycles, project execution, environmental regulation, and shifts in demand from steel and advanced-materials markets.
