PepsiCo (PEP)
Nasdaq Market Open
PepsiCo, Inc. is one of the world’s largest consumer staples companies, combining a global beverage business with a leading portfolio of snack and convenience food brands. Its products are sold in more than 200 countries and territories, with flagship names such as Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Gatorade, Lay’s, Doritos, Cheetos, Quaker, Tostitos, and Ruffles giving the company broad exposure to everyday consumer demand.
The company is distinctive because it is not solely a soft-drinks manufacturer. Snacks and packaged foods account for the majority of revenue, while beverages provide scale in carbonated soft drinks, sports drinks, energy drinks, bottled water, juices, and ready-to-drink coffee and tea. This mix gives PepsiCo a diversified earnings base and a strong position in both at-home consumption and on-the-go occasions.
In North America, PepsiCo owns significant manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution operations, particularly through its Frito-Lay and beverage systems. Outside the US, it uses a mix of company-owned operations, franchise bottlers, and local partners to reach consumers. International markets are an important growth driver, supported by rising demand for branded snacks and beverages in emerging economies.
PepsiCo competes with Coca-Cola in beverages and with a wide range of global and regional food companies in snacks. Its scale, marketing reach, retail relationships, and brand portfolio help it defend shelf space and pricing power. The company also invests in product reformulation, smaller package sizes, and new flavors as consumer preferences shift toward convenience, health-conscious choices, and premium formats.
