10x Genomics, Inc. is a life science technology company that develops instruments, consumables, and software used to study biology at high resolution. Its products help researchers examine cells, tissues, genes, and molecular activity in ways that reveal differences that can be missed by traditional bulk analysis. The company serves academic laboratories, biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical groups, and clinical research organisations working in areas such as immunology, oncology, neuroscience, developmental biology, and genetics.
The company is best known for its Chromium platform, which uses microfluidics and barcoding chemistry to enable single-cell analysis at scale. Beyond single-cell analysis, 10x Genomics has built a spatial biology portfolio. Its Visium platform allows scientists to measure gene expression while preserving information about where activity occurs within tissue sections. Xenium extends this focus into in situ analysis, enabling highly multiplexed examination of RNA targets directly in tissue. Together, these platforms position the company at the intersection of genomics, spatial profiling, and advanced biological imaging.
10x Genomics generates revenue through the sale of instruments, recurring consumables, and associated software across the United States, other parts of the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, China, and the broader Asia-Pacific region. Its business is closely linked to research funding, laboratory adoption cycles, and demand for tools that can map complex biology with greater detail.
