Aethir (ATH)
Aethir is a decentralized cloud computing network built around high-performance graphics processing units, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cloud gaming. The project connects GPU owners and infrastructure operators with businesses that need scalable computing power, including access to advanced chips used for demanding AI workloads. Rather than relying on a single centralized data-centre provider, Aethir aims to coordinate distributed GPU capacity through a blockchain-based network.
Its model is designed to address a growing bottleneck in the technology sector: the shortage and high cost of specialist compute. AI developers, model-training companies, inference providers, and game-streaming platforms all need low-latency access to powerful hardware. Aethir’s infrastructure allows independent providers, often described in its ecosystem as container operators, to contribute GPU resources that can be matched with enterprise customers. The network also targets cloud gaming and virtual device use cases, where remote rendering and streamed computing can make high-end experiences available on less powerful consumer hardware.
Aethir positions itself as an enterprise-grade alternative to traditional cloud GPU services, while adding community ownership and token-based incentives. The ATH token sits at the centre of this ecosystem, supporting network participation and economic coordination between compute suppliers, users, and other stakeholders. The project’s distinctive angle is the combination of decentralized physical infrastructure, AI-focused GPU capacity, and gaming-oriented cloud rendering in a single marketplace for compute.
