Bio Protocol (BIO)

The protocol is built around curation and liquidity. In practice, that means helping scientific communities form, select promising research areas, raise capital, and create market structures around tokenized biotech projects and IP. Its design draws on experience from Molecule, a platform known for tokenizing early-stage biomedical research, and VitaDAO, a prominent decentralized community focused on longevity science. Those precedents are central to BIO’s identity: the project is not simply issuing a token for science branding, but attempting to build financial and governance infrastructure for research networks.

The BIO token gives holders exposure to the protocol’s network of scientific communities and the emerging DeSci economy. Within that ecosystem, tokenization can be used to coordinate funding, align incentives, and broaden participation in areas that are often capital intensive and slow to commercialize. Bio Protocol’s focus is especially relevant to biotech, where intellectual property, clinical validation, and long development timelines make access to funding and community engagement difficult.
