Terra Luna Classic (LUNC)

Following the collapse of that model, the legacy network remained live and was renamed Terra Classic, with LUNC as its native token. The chain still uses proof-of-stake consensus, where validators process transactions and maintain the ledger. Holders can delegate LUNC to validators to support network security and may receive staking rewards, while the token is also used for transaction fees and governance voting.

LUNC’s current identity is shaped by its community. Token holders and validators propose and vote on changes to the chain, including parameters intended to manage supply, support applications, and define the future direction of the network. Community discussions have often focused on burns, staking incentives, exchange support, and whether practical use cases can be rebuilt on the legacy infrastructure.

Unlike many newer crypto assets, Terra Luna Classic carries a large amount of historical context. It is not simply a payments token or a smart contract platform token; it represents the surviving network of one of crypto’s most closely watched failures. Its relevance depends on whether the community can sustain validator participation, maintain technical development, and create demand for activity on the chain beyond speculative trading.
