Cooper Companies (COO)
Nasdaq Market Closed
The Cooper Companies, Inc. is a medical device company with two main businesses: CooperVision and CooperSurgical. The group is especially prominent in eye care, where CooperVision ranks among the largest contact lens manufacturers in the United States and competes globally across daily, reusable, and specialty lens categories. Its portfolio includes spherical, toric, multifocal, and other advanced lens designs used to correct common vision conditions such as myopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia.
CooperVision’s major brands include Biofinity, MyDay, clariti, and Proclear, giving the company a broad product range across silicone hydrogel and hydrogel lenses, as well as options for different wearing schedules and patient needs. The business also has a meaningful specialty lens presence, including products used in myopia management and lenses for more complex prescriptions. This makes CooperCompanies a key supplier to optometrists, ophthalmologists, distributors, and retailers in the global vision correction market.
CooperSurgical expands the company beyond eye care into women’s health, fertility, and reproductive medicine. The segment provides devices, consumables, diagnostics, and related products used across fertility treatment and reproductive care, including offerings connected with in vitro fertilization. It also markets Paragard, a hormone-free intrauterine device in the United States.
The company’s appeal lies in its exposure to healthcare categories supported by recurring demand, specialist distribution, and demographic trends such as rising vision correction needs and growing use of fertility services. Its results are tied to product innovation, practitioner adoption, regulatory standards, manufacturing reliability, and competition from other global medical device and vision care companies.
