Herbalife Ltd. is a global nutrition and wellness company best known for selling weight-management, dietary supplement, sports nutrition, energy, and personal care products through an independent distributor network. The company operates in dozens of markets worldwide and uses a direct-selling model in which members purchase products for personal use, resale, or to support customer programmes built around nutrition and lifestyle goals.
Its largest category is weight management, which includes meal replacement shakes, protein drinks, drink mixes, snacks, and related products designed for calorie-controlled diets. Herbalife also sells targeted nutrition products such as vitamins, minerals, and supplements; energy and fitness items aimed at active consumers; and outer nutrition products such as skin and body care. The brand is closely associated with community-based selling, nutrition clubs, and distributor-led customer support.
Herbalife manufactures some of its products at company-operated facilities in the United States and China, including sites in California, North Carolina, Changsha, and Suzhou, while also relying on third-party manufacturers. This production network supports sales across North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific, and China.
For investors, Herbalife is tied to consumer demand for health, wellness, and weight-management solutions, as well as the performance of its member base. Its business model gives it broad geographic reach and relatively low reliance on traditional retail shelves, but it also makes distributor engagement, regulatory scrutiny of direct selling, product innovation, and local economic conditions important factors in its results.
