MGP Ingredients (MGPI)

MGP reports through three main business areas: Distilling Solutions, Branded Spirits, and Ingredient Solutions. The distilling business supplies bulk spirits, including whiskey, gin, vodka, and industrial alcohol, to customers that may age, blend, bottle, or market the products under their own labels. This makes MGP an important behind-the-scenes supplier to the American spirits industry, particularly in whiskey, where aging inventory and production expertise are central to long-term value creation.

The Branded Spirits segment includes a range of owned labels across categories and price points. Its portfolio features names such as Penelope Bourbon, Yellowstone Bourbon, Minor Case Straight Rye Whiskey, Exotico Tequila, Brady’s Irish Cream, Arrow Cordials, Canada House Canadian Whisky, and Lady Bligh Rum. These brands are sold through distributors or, in certain markets, through state-controlled alcohol systems.

MGP’s Ingredient Solutions business produces specialty wheat proteins and starches used in food applications, including bakery, plant-based foods, and other formulated products. For investors, the company’s performance is shaped by consumer demand for premium spirits, whiskey inventory management, brand growth, grain and input costs, distributor execution, and demand from food ingredient customers.
