Open Campus (EDU)

A central idea in the Open Campus ecosystem is that educational content can be represented and commercialised through NFTs and other on-chain tools. Publisher NFTs are designed to let creators and co-publishers participate in the economics of learning materials, while giving content owners a clearer route to sell, license, or share their work. TinyTap, a platform associated with interactive educational games and lessons, has been one of the notable early adopters of this model, with Open Campus also supported by partners from the broader Web3 sector such as Animoca Brands and The Sandbox.

EDU is the utility token for the protocol. It is intended to support activity across the Open Campus foundation and marketplace, including payments for educational assets, participation in peer review, smart donations, scholarship grants, and the purchase or sale of Publisher NFTs. The project’s broader ambition is to create an education economy in which teachers and content creators retain more control over their intellectual property, while communities and backers can help fund learning resources in a transparent, programmable way.
