Alto Neuroscience Inc. is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing psychiatric medicines with a precision-medicine approach. Rather than treating depression or schizophrenia as uniform conditions, Alto seeks to match drug candidates with patient groups defined by objective measures of brain biology. Its work is built around biomarkers that may include neurocognitive tests, electrophysiology, wearable data, and other brain-based signals intended to identify patients more likely to respond to a specific therapy.
The company’s pipeline is led by multiple clinical-stage programmes, including ALTO-100, ALTO-202, ALTO-207, ALTO-101, and ALTO-300. These candidates are being evaluated initially in major depressive disorder, other depressive conditions, and schizophrenia-related populations. Alto’s strategy reflects a broader shift in neuroscience drug development toward patient stratification, where clinical trials are designed around biologically defined subgroups instead of relying only on symptom-based diagnoses.
